Last year, when I was at BlogHer, I had the privilege of touring the Scholastic store and learning about their Storia e-reading app (for iPad/Android/PC). I love this app for many reasons, including the many amazing book offerings from Scholastic! When I recently talked about the dangers of technology for our children, one of the points I loved was using these tools to encourage reading.
We love Scholastic books like Clifford and Fly Guy and of course, anything by Mo Willems. I am a big Hunger Games fan myself, even though my boys won’t be reading those for a few more years.
The Storia app is a free, kid friendly e-reader that organizes all of your Storia books on bookshelves for each child. When you download your free app, they even give you 5 free books to get you started!
We recently downloaded an enhanced e-book from the Fly Guy series and Oscar loves that he can listen to it and “read” it himself. At the end of the book, there are three questions about the story for Oscar to answer. It’s a great listening/learning tool in addition to a fun story!
