Puristics: Face Cream Review

I recently had the pleasure of being asked to review a new face cream from Puristics. I am sort of a lazy moisturizer and this has been something I wanted to change so I agreed to try it out.

I was sent the Totally Ageless Night Recovery Cream, Totally Ageless Anti-Aging Daily Lotion SPF 15 and Totally Ageless Intensive Eye Treatment. After spending some time trying all three face creams, I feel like I can share my opinions on these products!

Puristics Face Cream Review

According to their website, Puristics believes in the power of pure products—naturally derived yet highly effective. Puristics products are free of potentially harmful chemicals (like dyes, perfumes, and synthetic preservatives) that you might find in other personal care products. Many of our pure ingredients come from plant-based sources, and all final products are tested for sensitization and irritation effects.

I was also glad to read that Puristics products do not include any of the so-called “dirty dozen” chemical ingredients identified by the Green Guide or chemicals listed in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics or the European Union Cosmetics Directive.

That’s all well and good if it works! So what did I think?

What I Like About Puristics

The first thing that drew me to this product was the lack of harmful chemicals. Being pregnant, I am especially aware of what I am putting in and on my body and try to make sure I keep the pollutants to a minimum. Once that part is settled, I look at the practical stuff.

I love that the bottles have pump dispensers. Call it personal preference, but I really like that in a lotion. And each cream is unscented so it won’t compete with your other beauty products. I was also impressed with the SPF 15 included in the lotion. While I love a good tan, it really is imperative to protect your skin and this is about the easiest way to do it! My favorites are the Totally Ageless Anti-Aging Skin Lotion and the Intensive Eye treatment.

What I Don’t Like about Puristics

I have typically dry skin, but I felt that the night cream was too greasy even for me. I tried to apply less than I normally do and that helped, but it was not my favorite of the three. Also, even though the lotions are unscented, there is still SOME scent and I didn’t care for even the faint smell of the night cream. However, my husband loved it and has claimed it for himself. Win!

I also have to admit that the price point is a bit high for our budget. At $21.99 each, I don’t know that this is a product I would keep on hand at all times. I do understand that it’s pretty comparable to other natural products, but it just isn’t realistic for us.

Final Thoughts on Puristics

Overall, I am really glad that I had the chance to sample this product and I do think it is a worthwhile investment if you have the budget! They also have a Baby care line that can be found at a much lower price point and I look forward to trying it out on the kiddos. Puristics can be found at these participating stores.

So tell me, have you tried Puristics yet? What did you think?

Disclosure: I was provided with the above products and asked to give my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own and were in no way influenced by the company.

I’ve been using puristics for over a month now and see no difference. Using day and nite cream. Love the texture but they aren’t any better than over the counter wrinkle creams.

$21.99? I just bought the night cream from Big Lots for $2!

    • Little Green Bees

Me too! I bought the sunblock last night for $2! I’m trying it and I like the way it feels so far. Doing some research to make sure there’s not a nefarious reason it’s at big lots! :)
