Angry Birds obsessed

So we have moved on from our loves of the past. So long Buzz and Woody. See ya real soon Mickey. We’ll miss you Lightning. Because today? It’s ALL about the Angry Birds.

When I was in NYC, I went to the Sweet Suite party thrown by The Big Toy Book. They had tons of new toys on display from Green Toys, to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to a super cool Kinect for Xbox 360 game where you can interact with Elmo in a real episode of Sesame Street. Seriously, my head was spinning from all the awesome.

Little did I know that the squishy little yellow Angry Bird Mashems (that will retail for $2.99 when it’s available this fall) would be Oscar’s most prized possession (next to the actual game on the tablet of course).

He is obsessed.

In fact, he had his first toy meltdown at Target yesterday because I said that no we couldn’t bring all those Angry Bird toys home (the horror) but instead, looky! get excited because here are some new underwear!

He didn’t really go for that.

What he doesn’t know is that I am totally planning to get him some of the action figures because as much as I love technology, I still like real toys better. Even the ones that are inspired by a video game.

But for now, his little yellow bird, new underwear and this picture will have to suffice.

What toys/characters are your kids obsessing over these days?

Jude is totally into all things Legos, especially Star Wars Legos. I totally blame Joe for this. But I can’t complain too much because it brings me hours of quiet play. I can live with that.

We are all about Batman and Spiderman these days. Buzz has gotten the shaft.

Oh, we’re huge Angry Birds fans here as well. Of course, then there’s always ANY given Super Hero, you name it, and my kids love them :)

We are still a ways off from SuperHeroes but I am sure they will be next!

Lenny is into Iggle Piggle from In The Night Garden (is that just a UK thing?), Mickey Mouse and Maggie from the Simpsons. We have dolls of all of them and we have to take them everywhere with us. God knows how he sleeps – there is hardly any room in his cot for him!!!

Hahaha we totally have the same issue. Oscar has to sleep with all his friends too!
